- 2023-09-24 — Albatross plane maiden flight with new biomechanical morphing wing system 23.09.23 — this new albatros plane features a groundbraking biomechanical morphing wing system. by one servo on each wing the wing is folded around a bone structure, forming camber, adding dihedral and wing twist, by changing all these dimensions one servo per wing can control YAW, PITCH and ROLL without the need of a vertical stabilizer, the outer wings acts as an drag rudder, while the inner wings are flaperons. the maiden flight was generally successful , the pid needs to be tuned better because wing servos are slow and tail is small. also the wings need some reinforcement, other todo is install an fpv system, paint the model like a black browed albatros and maybe improve wings adding more camber to the airfoil and closing the gaps in the foam by pieces of membrane to reduce drag and get all benefits of the albatrosses highspeed soaring wings specifications wingspan : 2150mm motors: 2x 2211 brushless motor ESC: 2x 20A VGOOD esc flight controller: speedy bee f405 wing battery: 3600mah lipo servos: 2x GXServo GX1306MG for wings and 2x blue arrow AF d43S-6.0 MG for tail
