Description

Warcraft-inspired servo dragon.

2021-10-25 — Faerie dragon first test flight in forest 24.10.21 — the faerie dragon is a magical creature from warcraft universe. the wing needs slight improvement and body needs to be lighter for more easy flight
2021-11-11 — Servo faerie dragon TestFlight 11.11.21 — Model was painted and Wing changed slightly.
2023-05-15 — Servo faery dragon motor upgrade flight in court yard 15.05.2023 — trying to improve the faery dragon wing by many fine carbon rods, and adding unknown rest amounts of glue from changing often the wing became more heavy and also a bit more strong than the initial attempt: despite the efforts the model could not gain height. however upgrading servo motors from blue arrow AF D43S 6.0MG to 576HT-HV fixed this. the slightly stronger wings were able to handle the extra weight from stronger motors and the model was able to climb a bit despite few wind in the court yard. it turns out the model has stability issues when the flapping amplitude is too high. somehow it was required that the CG was more at front than I expected, this may be due to a too rigid hind wing that doesnt allow enough flex when the model, also the upwards pointing front wingtip spine generates some lift that only behaves aerodynamic when it is not stalling
