Oryon X7

Description

The Oryon X7 is a project to make a very fast quadcopter — the fastest quad in the world. It uses constructive interference by anhedral propellers to gain higher effective pitch, and thus higher potential speed; the anhedral additionally improves control authority with the center of gravity in front of the motors, which helps stabilize the quad especially at high speeds. A lifting body in the shape of an obelisk, built from carbon and foam, optimizes the airflow and allows steeper flight angles by contributing lift in forward flight.

At the summit of the obelisk sits a transparent pyramidion housing GPS and camera. Inside a transparent pyramid the edges become invisible — the light is gathered — which makes it feasible as a spaceship cockpit; a darkening film was planned so that the top blends with the rest of the obelisk.

Oryon X7 rocket quad. I want to try make a very fast quad. I designed it so it resembled an Atlantean spaceship. There is GPS and camera in the transparent pyramidion. I found that in the inside of a transparent pyramid the edges become invisible, because the light is gathered — making it feasible for a spaceship cockpit. I will add a darkening film later so that the top blends better with the rest of the obelisk. I’m gonna write more details about Atlantean history soon.

2023-10-26 — Oryon X7 rocket quad hover and cruise test 25.10.23 — This is a project to make a very fast quadcopter that uses constructive interference by anhedral propellers to gain higher effective pitch and thus higher potential speed. furthermore the anhedral improves control authority of CG in front of the motors which is useful helping to stabilise the quad especially at high speeds. a lifting body in the shape of an obelisk from carbon and foam was made to optimise airflow and allow steeper flight angle by additional lift in forward flight.
