- 2020-04-30 — Stormcutter flights on calm evening 30. 4.2020 — performance is reducing because the ball bearings are wearing out……… also there’s extra weight from added stabilizer, but control is insufficient because control surfaces are small and not much performant… a more efficient tail control needs to be found Gears: 69T48dp main gear 7T0.5MpinionWire,64t0.5Msuprgear 12t0.5M pinion Stabilizer: HobbyEagle a3v2, Receiver: Flysky X6B 2.4G 6CH Wingspan: 101cm Length: 59cm weight:180g Motor:2211 brushless motor ESC: 12AMP Simonk with BEC + extra 6Vbec for servos (extra bec can be removed if model flies with 2cell) Control: 2x D56MG HV servos battery: 240-350mah 2-3cell lipo
- 2020-07-11 — Stormcutter testflight 10.07.2020 — pinion gear lost drive by loose motor fixation. besides new tail control works like a charm
- 2020-07-14 — Stormcutter acrobatic flight 13.07.2020 — Gears: 69T48dp main gear 7T0.5MpinionWire,64t0.5Msuprgear 12t0.5M pinion Stabilizer: HobbyEagle a3v2, Receiver: Flysky X6B 2.4G 6CH Wingspan: 101cm Length: 59cm weight:180g Motor:2211 brushless motor ESC: 12AMP Simonk with BEC + extra 6Vbec for servos (extra bec can be removed if model flies with 2cell) Control: 2x D56MG HV servos battery: 240-350mah 2-3cell lipo

- 2020-11-15 — Stormcutter Titan Slow motion test flight 14.11.20 — there are tiny issues with controls by servos being a bit too weak Wingspan: 150cm Length: 102cm Motor: 2211 Brushless Motor outrunner 1000kv Gears: 8t0.5Mpinion- 60t0.5MspurGear,10t0.5Mpinionwwire-72t0.5MaluminiumMainGear Battery: 370mah 3S lipo Control: 2x MG90S metal gear servo
- 2020-11-27 — Stormcutter Titan flight in dense fog 27.11.20 — changed motor from 2211-1000kv (21g) to ESKY-2010-1000kv (64g) and pinion gear from 10t to 14t due to space limitation. the model can return from gliding now and has a bit more power on slow flight.
- 2020-12-09 — Stormcutter SLOWMOTION flight 06.12.2020 — Gears: 69T48dp main gear 7T0.5MpinionWire,64t0.5Msuprgear 12t0.5M pinion Stabilizer: HobbyEagle a3v2, Receiver: Flysky X6B 2.4G 6CH Wingspan: 101cm Length: 59cm weight:180g Motor:2211 brushless motor ESC: 12AMP Simonk with BEC + extra 6Vbec for servos (extra bec can be removed if model flies with 2cell) Control: 2x D56MG HV servos battery: 240-350mah 2-3cell lipo

- 2021-05-31 — Stormcutter titan flight 31.05.21
- 2022-05-25 — Stormcutter testflight 24.05.23 — I wanted to improve this model a bit more therefore I opened the airfoil a bit, which improved its slow flight ability by more lift, but generally opening the wing more reduces thrust also because lift is drag vs thrust. One more thing to optimize will be align the upper wing at a negative AoA to reduce the models stall tolerance and reduce its overall drag , it may require to move flap angle down too because when flap speed increases currently model gets pushed down
- 2022-08-21 — Stormcutter Titan Flight at sundown 20.08.22 — Model was repaired from crash by damaged motor and dihedral plus flap phase was changed. The latter needs further adjustments. In this setting load on control servos became higher and may require stronger servo
- 2022-10-09 — Stormcutter Titan flights with smoke candle and new control servos 08.10.22 — The previous Tower MG92 with 3.6kg torque were too weak and sometimes stalling trying to move the big tail by the new wing setting with less dihedral, replacing them by the somewhat slow
Mirco 6kg 17g
servos improved handling, although response was still quite a bit slow, it became more controllable. the extra weight is not an issue for the size of the model, but better response would offer more fine control for individual strokes. the servo speed and torque can be improved by using more high quality servos (which are expensive at this size), or try using a step-down filter to run the servos at specified maximum 6.8V, but they might overheat by strong flight. furthermore smoke candles were used to visualize air flow of the dragon. by looking at the smoke its possible to identify a pattern on the smoke generated by flapping stroke, but its not possible to see a more detailed flow of an individual stroke. therefore another improvement is need that requires a placement of the smoke source more under the wing, and a much denser smoke. it might be interesting try to use the RC line signal to power special firework effects on an ornithopter. - 2023-05-02 — Stormcutter Titan test flight with smoke candle 23.10.22
- 2023-05-20 — Stormcutter Titan Evening Flight with Chasecam 19.05.23
- 2023-10-16 — Stormcutter test of half loose wing 16.10.23 — I tried to attach the upper wing half loose so that it’s trailing edge would fold up on downstroke and down on upstroke, thus allowing more airflow in, to possibly increase flight speed. The flight speed increased marginally only, but the flight became much more unstable.
- 2023-11-22 — FPV Stormcutter Titan crash into tree 13.11.23
- 2023-11-22 — Stormcutter TestFlights 21.11.23 — the upper wing was attached with a carbon spring instead of loose, the control is a bit better, but because spring is too strong its effect is only marginal Gears: 69T48dp main gear 7T0.5MpinionWire,64t0.5Msuprgear 12t0.5M pinion Stabilizer: HobbyEagle a3v2, Receiver: Flysky X6B 2.4G 6CH Wingspan: 101cm Length: 59cm weight:180g Motor:2211 brushless motor ESC: 12AMP Simonk with BEC + extra 6Vbec for servos (extra bec can be removed if model flies with 2cell) Control: 2x D56MG HV servos battery: 350mah 3cell lipo
- 2023-11-25 — FPV/POV Stormcutter Titan testflight with dragon rider 21.11.23 — the attachment pole for POV camera was too wobbly, therefore image was not good and needed lot of stabilization
- 2023-12-07 — FPV/POV Stormcutter Titan testflight with dragon rider 30.11.23 — the attachment of pole for POV camera was reinforced but is still too wobbly, a stronger reinforcement is needed
- 2024-07-22 — Stormcutter Titan TestFlight with chase cam 19.07.24
