  • 2021-02-22Tapejara redesign maidenflight — the past Tapejara model Turned Out to be a misconception, it was too heavy and flight was far from optimal, so i redesigned the model from the Insights i gained in the First attempt and Made this new model that actually Flies. very fast indeed , which is more optimal for pterosaur large high aspect Ratio Wings, but it Turned Out that Control was very poor and from one Moment to next it would Change from unresponsive to extremely fragile. some more Changes are necessary.
  • 2021-02-26Tapejara control improvement and testflights 26.02.2021 — The leg control system has been improved. instead of moving legs independently from wing they mostly follow its movement, but when a wing is raised wing membrane gets loosened a bit, which has more effect than elevator. is works quite acceptable but is a little bit unpredictable in some edge cases. The head i built was too floppy but even so by its size its very destabilising in wind and even normal flight. therefore i removed the head to fly freely. a new head must be made, preferably by a mechanism that allows the head follow the wings movement by pointing in the right direction, only so a big tapejara head could fly in wind.
  • 2021-03-05Tapejara testflights with new head 03.03.2021 — Tried Out two new head shapes after original Design redulted too much destabilizing and causing drag thenew head Designs offer more compromise. this model is flapping by a servo motor on each wing. wingspan: 146cm weight: 85g (without lipo) servos: 2x KST-MS320 lipo/flight time: 5-15minutes (180mah-500mah lipo)
  • 2021-03-10Servo Tapejara testflights with colored fuselage 09.03.21 — i Made a lighter Version of the Tapejara head replacing some parts by air permeable cloth. painting it with acrylic took away some of the permeability though i thinned it with Water. also painted the body and Wings, but again the model resulted having some difficulties climbing. this model is flapping by a servo motor on each wing. wingspan: 146cm weight: 90g (without lipo) servos: 2x KST-MS320 lipo/flight time: 5-15minutes (180mah-500mah lipo)
